- CD32 - Disk Saver
-
- by Christian Gines
-
- What do I need?
-
- All you need is
- -a CD32 plus a disk drive or hard drive
- or -an A1200/A4000 with a CD32 compatible CD ROM drive.
-
- What is it?
-
- Well, instead of using that small 1K of nonvolatile RAM of your CD32,
- use over 800K of one (empty) disk! So you can keep all saved games on disk
- without losing any of them! All you have to is the following: insert
- this disk and the game CD time and then (re-)boot/reset. After this
- the game will use the disk to save on. The save games can then be
- found in the drawer called "NonVolatile".
-
- What if I want to another drive (e.g. my hard disk)?
-
- If you have one, just edit the file called "nv_location" in
- the drawer Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys/ consisting of just one line: You
- have to type in the full path of the directory in which the games
- should be saved. For example:
-
- DH1:Games/Save/
-
- I have tested my little tool successfully on the following games:
-
- -Pinball Fantasies
- -Pirates! Gold
- -Simon the Sorcerer
-
- I have chosen the colour black for the background because in some
- games like Simon the Sorcerer or Pirates! Gold one can see part of the
- background of the Workbench screen.
-
- DO NOT WRITE-PROTECT THIS DISK!!! OTHERWISE YOU CANNOT SAVE!!!
-
- Please report your experiences with this little tool to me:
